Expenditures for this were ¥ 8.4 trillion, a surplus of ¥ 295.2 billion, due to a 5.1% decrease in insurance benefits compared to the previous fiscal year due to the effect of refraining from seeing a doctor due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection.



The surplus is expected to increase by 45.4 billion yen from the previous year, resulting in a surplus for the seventh consecutive year.



On the other hand, regarding the outlook for this year and beyond, the Health Insurance Society expects a deficit due to the increase in spending due to the increase in medical expenses for the elderly, although the impact of the new coronavirus is unclear.
