On October 19th, media professionals from both sides of the strait who participated in the "Cross-Strait Taiwan Youth Viewing Yunnan" event came to the Lantern Theater in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province to appreciate the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Yuxi Lantern Opera and learn about "fan flowers".

"Ten Yuxi people, nine can sing lanterns, and one hum along with them." The Yuxi Lantern Opera originated from folk ensemble singing and dancing, and was a local opera form formed in the late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China.

Yuxi lanterns have distinct artistic characteristics. They can both act and sing and dance. You can see dance in the play, see the play in the dance, and blend the play and dance.

Yuxi lanterns are good at lantern dramas.

There are also five major tunes in music, namely, "Dao Qing", "Wang Ban", "Yu Mei Qing", "Quan Cross" and "Wu Li Tang".

The basic characteristic of the lantern dance in Yunnan is "Wai", and there is a saying among the folks that "no light can not be made without a wei".

"Waibu" all have hand movements in coordination, and the various changes of the props in the hand and the "flower in the hand" and "flower fan" of the fan are its specific manifestations.
