China News Service, Hong Kong, October 19-The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, fell at the Government House on the evening of the 18th, causing a slight fracture of her elbow and was temporarily on leave.

On the afternoon of the 19th, Carrie Lam posted an article on her personal social platform about her injury and thanked everyone for their concern.

She said that she would take advantage of this "hand injury" to take a break and "charge" before leading Hong Kong to face the difficulties.

When talking about the injury, Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor said in her article that she hosted a dinner for her retired colleagues at the Government House on the evening of the 18th. When she went downstairs before the dinner, she fell off the steps. At first she thought it was a skin injury, but her right hand was getting more and more painful, so she bid farewell. After the visit, she went to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment by herself.

After examination and X-rays, it was found that part of her right elbow had "collapsed", so she immediately fixed it with a plaster and allowed it to heal itself. It is estimated that it will take two to three weeks.

Carrie Lam said that after she was hospitalized for one night and underwent brain scans and other examinations, she was discharged from the hospital and returned to the Government House to rest on the morning of the 19th.

She thanked the medical team of Queen Mary Hospital for their good care, and felt warmhearted for the care given by colleagues and friends.

Carrie Lam mentioned that a number of friends left messages to her, "Small illness is a blessing", thinking that this is just a chance for her "unstoppable chief executive" to have a good rest.

She also thinks this is a positive attitude.

However, she sighed in the article: "The biggest problem now is probably dressing and writing!"

"In fact, I have not taken vacations for nearly three years." Carrie Lam mentioned that before and after the 2021 policy address, she was even more busy. Difficulties arise and implement many measures in this year's policy address.
