Egypt: One-year suspended prison sentence for the doctor accused in the “Nurse and Dog” incident

The court sentenced the other defendants to one year in prison with detention and a fine of 50,000 pounds each.

And the Egyptian newspaper, Al-Ahram, said that Counselor Hamada El-Sawy, the Public Prosecutor, referred three defendants in the incident to the Criminal Court, who were imprisoned, on charges of bullying nurse Adel Salem, by saying, displaying strength and controlling him, as they ordered him to prostrate to a “dog” owned by Dr. Amr Khairy, head of the department. Orthopedic at Ain Shams University Hospital, the main accused, taking advantage of the nurse's weakness and their authority over him, with the intent of intimidating him, putting him in a position of ridicule, and degrading him in a widely circulated video on social media pages.

The Public Prosecution based the evidence on Dr. Amr Khairy, and investigations showed that the perpetrators violated family principles and values ​​within the Egyptian society, and violated the sanctity of the private life of nurse Adel Salem, by publishing a video that included mockery of him through the information network, which violated the privacy of the victim without his consent, and the prosecution watched The public took a video clip of the bullying incident, and the defendants admitted the correctness of their appearance in it.
