A reporter from China News Agency recently interviewed the famous artist Lin Tianxing, chairman of the Hong Kong Artists Association (Hong Kong Artists Association). When he stepped into his studio, he suddenly felt the breath of art.

Lin Tianxing is famous for painting lotus. The lotus in his paintings is warm and romantic, blooming with gorgeous colors, and is called "heavenly lotus" by the painting world.

His paintings "Morning" and "Both sides of the Victoria Harbour" created on the theme of the scene of Hong Kong traveled in space with the "Shenzhou VI" and "Shenzhou VII" in 2005 and 2008 respectively.

In Lin Tianxing's view, traditional Chinese paintings have always used a detached and blank way to express the tranquility and elegance of the lotus, as well as the truth, goodness and beauty.

As a contemporary artist, you can't just follow the past and express it in the same way. Art should be close to life.

"Before I painted lotus, I have been painting landscapes, using heavy colors to express the landscapes of Hong Kong, because Hong Kong is suitable for colors, especially modern civilization colors close to the space around us." Lin Tianxing said: "Traditional colors and techniques are no longer sufficient. To express today's world, we must use new visual methods, composition methods, color methods, and new expressive techniques to express."

It is precisely for innovation and breakthrough that Lin Tianxing's lotus is unique, rich in color and more light penetrating power.

"Traditional Chinese painting has a lot of blank space, giving people imagination. The picture I want is full, to show the emptiness in the fullness, but it can't make people feel that the picture is very'blocked', it should be ethereal." He explained.

Lin Tianxing, who worked hard in his studio and worked hard, did not cut off his connection with society. He has long served as chairman of the Hong Kong Artists Association and chairman of the Hong Kong branch of the Chinese Artists Association. He was recently elected as a member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Election Committee. .

"It is a very personal thing for a painter to hide in a room to create, but society needs someone to come out to speak and do something for everyone." Lin Tianxing said, "Hong Kong was a colonial society before its return to the motherland. No one cared about the development of traditional Chinese culture. After so many years of reunification, Hong Kong still has a lot of room for improvement in art development. I have a sense of mission and social responsibility to do something meaningful and influence more people, although this requires a lot of creative time to be sacrificed. "

Lin Tianxing believes that art education should start from the kindergarten, which requires a certain amount of faculty. It is a pity that there is no art academy in Hong Kong so far, and there are very few real professional exhibition halls for painters to use.

"The importance of art education is that people who like art since childhood, the world he sees in his eyes is beautiful, and even the ugly things can find beauty."

As a newly elected member of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Election Committee, Lin Tianxing knows his responsibility lies on his shoulders.

"I am the only member of the Hong Kong art circle. I hope that art will become more and more prosperous in Hong Kong. This requires everyone to work together to advance." What makes Lin Tianxing happy is that he was already a member of the Election Committee 5 years ago. The Cultural and Tourism Bureau was established, and Hong Kong’s new policy address clearly proposed the establishment of a "Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau."

"I think the spring of Hong Kong's art is coming." Lin Tianxing painted as much as he could: "The Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism can have a larger scope of responsibilities to help build a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries. This is very good for Hong Kong. One thing."

Lin Tianxing said that Hong Kong must first become an art center to build a cultural and artistic exchange center between China and foreign countries. It feels like a'cultural desert'. Now is the time to promote our own culture."
