- It feels fantastic.

I'm so grateful for the young women who lined up in the series.

It is their courage to tell, about the secret that has haunted them for many years, that made the series possible, says reporter Daniel Velasco, who made the series together with Victoria Gaunitz and Ylva Lindgren, in a press release from Swedish Radio.

The documentary series is about a man who has repeatedly been convicted of sexual crimes against children, including via the internet, and continued as soon as he has served his prison sentences.

This year's journalists are in prison

Three Swedish productions received honorable mentions: SVT's police series "The Thin Blue Line" in the TV fiction class, TV4 Kalla Fakta's "Decade in Assange's shadow" in the investigative TV class, and Swedish Radio's satire series Utkantssverige in the radio fiction class.

The award for European Journalists of the Year went to Katsyaryna Andreeva and Darya Chultsova from Belarus, who were sentenced to two years in prison after reporting on demonstrations against the country's authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko.

The prizes in all classes are presented on the Prix Europe website.
