Garcia Marquez's wardrobe is on sale for charity
More than seven years after the death of Colombian writer, Gabriel García Márquez, it was decided to put his clothes on sale for charities.
About 400 items of clothing, the 1982 Nobel Prize winner for literature, will be offered for sale, which belong to Marquez and his late wife, Mercedes, his granddaughter Emilia Garcia told Mexican newspaper Millenio in an interview published on Friday.
The actress, Emilia, explained that in the wardrobe there were "the most famous items, which belonged to Gabo (Gabriel) and Mercedes."
Among the items on sale were jackets, ties, shoes and bags, which were trademarks of García Márquez and Mercedes Barca.
From October 20, the former home in Mexico City of Marquez, author of "One Hundred Years of Solitude," will open its doors to family friends and then to visitors in time.
It is reported that García Márquez, one of the most famous authors in Latin America, died in 2014, at the age of 87.
