New artwork on the life story of Bob Marley

A musical will explore the life and songs of late Jamaican reggae star Bob Marley and will feature the artwork in London's West End.

He narrates the work, which will be shown this month at the Lyric Theatre, entitled “Wake up, stand up!

Operetta Bob Marley » Marley's upbringing in the Kingston Ghetto and then his rise to global stardom.

Born in 1945 in the rural Jamaican town of One Mile, Marley became a world-renowned star with hits such as "No Woman, No Cry", "One Love" and "I Shot the Sheriff".

He died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 36.

"We're really trying to show the human side of the man, we're trying to show what really made him go global and why the choices he made," show director Clint Dyer told Reuters.
