Maybe soon the end of the sleepless nights.

This Thursday, the prefecture of Vendée announced the opening of an investigation into the noise pollution caused by a Fleury-Michon factory, near Pouzauges.

Since the end of September, the inhabitants of Meilleraie-Tillay denounce an incessant noise, seven days a week, which emanates from the company located a hundred meters from their home.

Inconvenience caused, according to them, by new truck unloading docks.

The day after the media coverage of their situation, the prefecture, which had authorized the work, therefore decided to intervene.

"An examination of the conformity of the noise measurements carried out by the operator" will be carried out by the Dreal, as well as an "analysis of the annoyance of local residents", she announces.

An acoustic campaign

“In the event of non-compliance with the reference values, corrective actions or organizational measures must be proposed by the operator within a specific timeframe.

They could be framed by prefectural decree ”, indicates the prefecture.

While waiting for the results of the acoustic campaign, expected next week, the factory has also decided to make a gesture, indicates RMC.

It announces “the suspension of the activities of its logistics platform, from 11 pm to 6 am from Monday”.
