Recently, the 48th World Pumpkin Competition was held in Half Moon Bay, California, USA. Jeff from Washington State won this year's championship with his giant pumpkin weighing 993.8 kilograms.
The prize is more than 19,000 US dollars (approximately RMB 120,000).
Jeff said that he started planting seeds in April, and good soil, fertilizer and careful care ensured the healthy growth of pumpkins.
It is reported that Jeff participated in the competition in 2017 and won the third place at that time.
