The Board of Audit investigated a childcare service that allows people looking for a job to leave their children at the national expense while receiving a vocational training program from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. It turned out that there were a series of cases where the government paid high fees.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's vocational training program, which supports the reemployment of those who are looking for a job, allows the government to pay the cost to leave the child in a daycare center during the training.

The cost is paid from the national government to the business operator who conducts training through prefectures, but when the Board of Audit examined the business for three years until last year, 14 roads and prefectures have higher fees than general users. Turned out to be the burden.

Although the regulation was changed from 2018 so that the usage fee will be the same as that of general users, the Board of Audit has been told by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare that each prefecture has been overpaid as it was before the change. I think it was not well known to.

The overpaid amount amounted to about 20 million yen, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, which was pointed out by the Board of Audit, requested 14 roads and prefectures to return the overpaid amount.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare told the interview that "we cannot comment on the investigation by the Board of Audit at this time."
