Seismologists have registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 in the Pacific Ocean near the Kuriles. This was reported in the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
"An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred at 10:09 (02:09 Moscow time) at a depth of 59 kilometers, 313 kilometers from Severo-Kurilsk," RIA Novosti reported.
No data on the sensibility of tremors have been reported.
Earlier, seismologists recorded a 4.5 magnitude earthquake off the coast of Indonesia.
