In order to support the learning of children who are in a difficult financial situation due to the influence of the new corona, a support project has started that utilizes so-called "dormant deposits", which are deposits and savings that are left in financial institutions and have no transactions.

This project was started by an NPO that provides learning support for children.

Using the national system that subsidizes highly public private businesses by utilizing so-called "dormant deposits", we are recruiting groups from all over the country that support children's learning, create a place to live, and experience learning.

Then, based on the dormant account of about 350 million yen, we will provide subsidies from 5 million yen to 50 million yen to up to 20 groups to support the activities.

According to the NPO, parents lose their jobs due to the influence of the new corona, and some children may not be able to eat enough or have all the learning supplies, and donations will decrease, affecting activities such as learning support. It means that there are some support groups out there.

Yumiko Watanabe, the representative of NPO Kids Door, said, "If nothing is done, there is a risk that the difference in academic ability of children due to economic conditions will widen. I want you to apply for. "

Until the 18th of this month, applications are accepted on the website of the Corona Learning Disparity Emergency Assistance Project / Administration Secretariat, and information can also be found on the Kids Door website.
