38 people work for 26 hours and drain nearly 18,000 cubic meters

At 10 o'clock on the 9th, the accompanying vehicles entered the main road of Xinjiang County. Several hundred meters of the road was submerged with water. The deepest part had no tires. Small vehicles could not pass normally. Relevant departments are using excavators to transfer the affected people.

This road is the main passage in Yuncheng City. There are many large-scale trucks passing by on weekdays. The road surface is seriously damaged and many vehicles are trapped.

Huayang rescue team can only make a detour and arrive at the rescue line at 17:00. All kinds of rescue materials, emergency measures, and personnel are on duty. After debugging various equipment, they start to drain.

"When I first arrived, the village had serious water accumulation. The local water depth reached 2 meters. The water and electricity were cut off. Fortunately, the villagers were properly resettled. Although everyone was very tired, the team members immediately went into rescue in order to eliminate the danger as soon as possible." Huayang Said Wang Jinhong, deputy chief dispatcher of the general dispatching office of the group.

Ren Biao, a member of the wading pump, said: “At that time, the water was full of silt, and the flow resistance was great. The water even poured into the waterproof jacket from the neck, and the whole body was soaked.”

Race against time to rescue and continue to move to rescue

"Replace the pump at 0 o'clock, move the pump at half past 6 o'clock, the equipment is operating stably, and the drainage is normal..." At 7:50 on October 10, at the rescue site of Zhanli Village, Longxing Town, Xinjiang County, Yuncheng City, 8 Huas were on duty at night Yang rescue team completed the handover of work.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief as the water level gradually dropped.

At about 10 o'clock, the person in charge of the Huayang rescue team changed into a waterproof jacket and went into the stagnant water area to check.

"The water depth in the stagnant area we are responsible for has dropped to 60 or 70 centimeters. We decided to adopt a new drainage plan to transfer the high-power water pump to a new operation site-near the farmer’s market about 500 meters west of the Fenhe Bridge. The low-power pump stays here to continue the operation." Wang Jinhong told reporters.

At 11 o'clock, the Huayang rescue team mobilized part of its forces to the farmers market.

The local water depth here is more than 3 meters, and the underwater situation is still unclear and there are certain risks.

Regarding the problem of how to unhook the pump after the crane lifted the water pump to the drainage area, the headquarters decided to use a kayak after discussion.

With the cooperation of all parties, the pump was successfully placed at the designated location.

Xinjiang County is the first stop for the flood peak of the Fenhe River to enter Yuncheng. It has a total length of 44.94 kilometers and flows through 4 towns and 31 villages. The affected area is densely populated.

As of 19:00 on the 10th, more than 32,000 cubic meters of water were discharged in two days.

The Huayang rescue team stated that it will continue to carry out rescue operations until production and life in the disaster-affected area return to normal.
