Four baby seals were released on Saturday on the beach of Yport (Seine-Maritime), under the tender gaze of nearly 300 curious, reports France 3 Normandie.

These four sea calves, named Kili, Misti, Flores and Milos, were taken in this summer by the Chene association after being abandoned by their mother on the beach.

The emotion of "mother seal"

“These animals are disturbed by passers-by who want to take pictures a little too close. Seeing a human being too close, adult seals have a survival reflex: to run away. The mothers then often abandon the little ones, still too young to follow them at sea, ”explained the association in a video. The volunteers then take care of accompanying them until they can be independent.

Kili's departure thus moved the volunteer Yvelise Jouveau, who took special care of him in recent months.

"It's the investment, the fatigue, there is everything that falls, that gives up a little, the return to the beach has moved mother seal a little," she said, ironically.

Thanks to the seal colony observation organizations from which they receive photos, the volunteers can nevertheless hope to hear from their little ones.
