According to the Taibai County Party Committee Propaganda Department, at about 19:00 on October 8, the Taibai Gold Mine of China National Gold Group, located in Taibaihe Town, Taibai County, Shaanxi Province, suffered a sudden debris flow due to continuous rainfall. (Approximately 8 meters in height) collapsed tunnel was poured into the tunnel, 4 people were trapped in the tunnel, and the others returned to the ground safely. One of the trapped 4 people was rescued, but there was no vital signs, and the medical staff confirmed that they were unfortunately killed.
The remaining 3 people are in search and rescue.
After the incident, Baoji City immediately launched an emergency plan and established an on-site headquarters. The leaders and experts of the Provincial Emergency Department and the members of the city's expert group will guide the rescue. There are comprehensive coordination, emergency rescue, medical treatment, expert guidance, public opinion handling, and public security control. 9 working groups including logistical support, aftermath disposal, incident investigation, etc., participated in the rescue of 251 people from the National Mine Emergency Rescue (China Gold) Qinling Team, Lueyang Gold Rescue Team and the city and county rescue force.
Based on the survey and consultation with experts, emergency rescue is currently being carried out in accordance with the overall requirements of “emergency rescue, step-by-step implementation, close monitoring of surrounding landslides, and ensuring the safety of rescuers”.
Up to now, search and rescue work is still ongoing.
