So popular since its creation in 1968,

Le Petit Paumé

has well and truly experienced the crisis.

The 2020 edition of the famous guide to good addresses in Lyon had received a bad buzz due to racist criticism and bad taste jokes.

Then, due to the health crisis, the 2021 edition could not be released last year.

It was with a launch with great fanfare at Place Bellecour, Saturday, October 9, that

Le Petit Paumé

wanted to show off its new, wiser clothes.

“The editorial line is to keep the guide's DNA, the impertinence, the ability to criticize with humor and freedom, while bringing a notion of benevolence” declared Arthur Mink, president of

Petit Paumé

, in

Lyon Capitale

.

For a positive recovery

For its 53rd edition, 35 students from EM Lyon tested nine establishments per week instead of the usual five, due to lack of time, the restaurants having only reopened since the end of May and the closure being fixed in July.

The tone of critics is more positive, less acidic towards disappointing establishments, so as not to spoil a still difficult recovery.

After Bellecour, the guide will be distributed on October 30 in Villeurbanne then on November 4 in Croix-Rousse, in more than 100,000 copies.

A new website and app will be available before the end of the year.
