From Paris to Alor Setar via Venice and to Beijing, how do the stations of the world resonate?

What do their innumerable hubbub say about our ways of inhabiting these public spaces?

Monica Fantini has composed a contrasting sound mosaic of stations around the world, where voices and footsteps overlap.

From sound announcements in the Austerlitz station in Paris, to word of mouth chanting at the Alor Setar station in Malaysia;

from the grinding of a tired brake on a platform of the Venice station to the bells of the one in Beijing, small tour in the stations of the world by their sound waves.

Both a radio program broadcast every Sunday in the RFI news magazine and as a podcast on this page and participatory platform, Listening to the World gives voice to the cultures, languages ​​and imaginations of the world through the sounds of five continents.

The participative and evolving platform www.ecouterlemonde.net offers sound postcards and recordings.
