The name was decided on the male and female twin giant pandas born on June 23 at Ueno Zoo in Tokyo.

"Xiao Xiao" and "Ray Ray" are the first twin pandas to be born at Ueno Zoo, and when the zoo solicited names, there were more than 190,000 applications.



From this, the name was decided in consultation with the selection committee of Tokyo and the Chinese side that owns the property.



The two are growing steadily, with the latest anthropometric measurements weighing 6 kg and active movement.



The Tokyo Metropolitan Government plans to release the two animals next year in January 2022 with their mother, Xin Xin.
