A firefighter from the Zuoquan County Fire Rescue Brigade, with the cooperation of his teammates, waded through the torrent that once passed his neck and successfully rescued the student who was lying on the tree branch.
At 12 o'clock on October 6, floods raged near Jingou Village, Zuoquan County.
A passerby faintly heard someone calling "Help" while walking, and judged that someone might be trapped in the flood. However, due to the rapid flow of the flood and the deep water, he did not dare to rescue him rashly, so he approached Zuoquan County Fire Rescue Brigade Call the police for help.
Under the protection of his teammates, Wen Jiajie waded through the rapids and approached the trapped students.

When the firefighters arrived at the scene, in addition to the sound of running water, they could also hear intermittent calls for help, but they could not see the trapped persons.
After investigating and judging on the spot, firefighters guessed that the trapped person was probably lying on the big tree in the middle of the flood.
"Where are you? You shake the big tree next to us, and we can find you!" As soon as the fireman's voice fell, he saw the top of a big tree swaying continuously.
This big tree is 16 or 7 meters away from the shore.
The important task of wading to save people was robbed by Wen Jiajie, assistant on duty of the Zuoquan County Fire Rescue Brigade.
He has been engaged in fire rescue work for 9 years. He has been swimming since he was a child. He just passed the diver qualification exam this summer.
On the way back, Wen Jiajie tried his best to lift the trapped students on top to avoid choking them again.

Before entering the water, Wen Jiajie found a stick from a nearby farmer.
"The flow of the flood is very fast. You can use a stick to support your body when wading to ensure that you won't be washed over."
Put on the life jacket, tie the rescue rope around the waist, and put on a life jacket, Wen Jiajie started wading.
The water on the shore is not deep, it can only reach Wen Jiajie's knees.
However, only half a meter out, he stepped into a puddle, and the water level suddenly reached his waist.
Stabilizing his body, he walked forward half a meter, and when he encountered a deeper pit, the water level suddenly reached his neck.
"No, I'm going to pull the rope back!" The teammate who was in charge of protecting the shore suddenly caught his heart in his throat.
However, Wen Jiajie did not send a return signal. He firmly grasped the wooden stick with both hands, and then continued to walk forward after standing firm.
The water level is sometimes high and sometimes low.
Going further, the rescue rope around Wen Jiajie's waist was caught by a big tree.
In order to prevent accidents caused by the rope being frayed, he could only step back four or five meters, bypassing the obstacles and proceeding forward.

Seven minutes later, Wen Jiajie successfully approached the target tree and hugged the trunk.
At this time, the student lying on the branch was drenched and was shaking violently.
"Classmate, is there anything abnormal in your body?" Wen Jiajie asked loudly.
Seeing the trapped student shook his head, he handed the life jacket to the trapped student and instructed him to wear it.
However, Wen Jiajie encouraged him several times, but the trapped students did not dare to jump off the tree.
At that time, because the water temperature was too low, Wen Jiajie had already felt leg cramps, so he could only relieve him by repeatedly pushing his legs while holding the trunk.
"Fortunately, after several times of encouragement, the trapped student jumped from the tree and was hugged by me."
In order to prevent accidents on the way back, Wen Jiajie used a rescue belt to tie himself and the trapped students together.
"Pull!" Hearing Wen Jiajie's return signal, the teammates on the shore pulled the rope together.
In the meantime, the trapped student choked on several salivas. Wen Jiajie pushed him up and reminded him, "Don't be afraid! Shut your mouth and breathe through your nose!"
After returning to the bank, he saw that the trapped student was physically exhausted. Wen Jiajie let him rest for a while and helped him rub his limbs. He carried him to the side of the road 200 meters away and sent him to the hospital by ambulance for examination.
It was later understood that the rescued person was from Zuoquan County, a second-year high school student.
At the time of the incident, the student rode home and was swept away by the flood while wading through the water.
Fortunately, there were many big trees in the flood. After being rushed out more than ten meters, he grabbed a big tree with a thick bowl and climbed up its branches.
The fire department reminded that the flood flow is fast, and pedestrians can easily be swept over by forcibly wading through the water.
