The announcement dates from July, it was confirmed last week by Jean Castex, and we now know the price: from October 15, the “comfort” PCR tests for unvaccinated adults will cost 44 euros. .

Antigenic tests will be charged 22 euros in a laboratory, 25 or even 30 euros on weekends in a pharmacy.

Finally, the self-tests at 5.20 euros will no longer be free when they are carried out in front of the pharmacist.

Amounts equivalent to what foreign tourists have been paying since July.

However, there will be exceptions at the end of full support for these tests.

They will remain free for people just over 18 who are still in high school, as well as for people who suffer from a contraindication to the vaccine.

For those who are vaccinated but have symptoms or are going to have surgery, testing will also be free.

A risk with the onset of cold?

Contact cases reported by health insurance and unvaccinated adults but presenting symptoms and a prescription of less than 48 hours will also be covered.

And in the case of an antigen test whose diagnosis should be confirmed, the PCR test will remain free for the next two days in the laboratory.

"The logic is to reimburse the tests linked to genuinely medical reasons, and to continue to encourage people to be vaccinated", insisted the Prime Minister.

There are still around 6 million adults to be convinced, who will therefore pay dearly for their cinema screening if they fail to present a health pass.

But epidemiologist Pascal Crépey fears above all that "fewer positive people will be tested" with the expected rebound of the coronavirus epidemic in the fall.
