The Christian Democrats are the only party that has campaigned that Nimis should be made a cultural monument.

- That 30,000 visits per year shows a great public interest.

Nimis is an expression of the artistic freedom that we do not want to limit, says Roland Utbult (KD).

Both the Green Party and the Social Democrats' cultural policy spokespersons would like to see the artwork preserved, but believe that there are certain legal difficulties, Lawen Redar (S) says:

- Lars Vilks was an artist who made full use of freedom of expression and thus explored, challenged and provoked him with and through his artistic work.

Nimis is the heart of his work but which was illegally developed in Kullbergs Naturreservat.

- It would of course be nice if it was possible to find ways to preserve it from both a human and cultural point of view.

Then there are legal questions about the work, says Pernilla Stålhammar (MP)

Consider moving the work

Aron Emilsson (SD) believes that the work has attracted thousands of tourists to Höganäs municipality and that he is therefore happy to see a solution that allows it to remain.

- If this is not possible, a possible alternative would be to consider moving the work to another location that interested parties find reasonable and also give the work the framing it deserves, he says.

C, M and V have received the question but have not returned with an answer.
