Romanian sites reported that the baby's grandmother left him in the hospital, and no one came to inquire about his health for two weeks.
Mirella Romanet, a spokeswoman for the Bacău County Emergency Service, said the research found that the child's family had 23 other children at home, and lived in an area where there was a high incidence of conflict with law enforcement authorities.
