On April 23, this 49-year-old administrative secretary was stabbed by Jamel Gorchene.

The terrorist stabbed him twice before being shot dead by a police officer.

Stéphanie Monfeture was 49 years old.

On Monday, a plaque in memory of the policewoman, married and mother of two daughters, was placed in the reception hall as her family wished.

Next to her photo, the words “In memory of Stéphanie Monfeture, murdered on April 23, 2021” will remind everyone of the tragedy.

A garden of remembrance for the police

The ceremony took place in the presence of her family, her colleagues, the mayor of Rambouillet Véronique Matillon, the deputy Aurore Bergé, the prefect of Yvelines, Jean-Jacques Brot, and the Minister in charge of Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, notes the daily in Ile-de-France.

In Rambouillet, memories of the attack are still fresh.

For this tribute, "we had to let a little time pass and wait for the ideal moment for everyone", testifies a police officer.

The officials have set up a garden of remembrance, inaccessible to the public.

The flowers which are planted there were deposited by the inhabitants after the death of Stéphanie Monferme.
