The Egyptian Mu'tazila artist Shams Al-Baroudi revealed the reason for her cessation of participating in washing the bodies of the dead after carrying out this humanitarian mission more than once, the last of which was the washing of the artist Hala Fouad, who died in 1993 after a struggle with illness.

The Egyptian newspaper “Al-Watan” quoted Shams Al-Baroudi as saying that she stood for washing the body of her mother and mother-in-law many years ago, adding: “I responded to Hala Fouad’s will by standing to wash her body after I was informed of this will from her mother, but I was lying after any washing for a month or two. the severity of the situation."

She added that she asked the scholars, and they told her that taking care of her home and her children is more important than the reward for washing the dead, because she lay tired after a long period of the terrible situation, and since then she no longer participates in any washing of the dead.
