popera singer, musical actor, and even an essay writer are constantly challenging. Kai, who returned to the creative musical Excalibur, was with us. Hello?

Q. In the midst of the corona epidemic… How do you feel when you see the audience coming?

[Kai/Musical Actor: The genre of drama, which we can easily meet through TV, can be watched at home or when we want to by pressing the remote control, but this genre of musical is our own, and expensive In fact, the power of these audiences is very important because you have to pay a price and make a reservation to find the theater yourself. It was originally but also in this pandemic situation, despite the difficulties, many actors, including myself, are working on the performance with a very grateful heart to everyone who visits the theater directly.]

Q. what kind of work is it?

[Kai / Musical Actor: As many of you know well, we have original works such as the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. It contains the story of the one who drew the legendary sword, Excalibur, overcoming all difficulties and adversity and leading the world in peace. I think we are delivering various messages in this difficult time right now.]

Q. The second time after the premiere… Is there anything that has changed?

[Kai / Musical Actor: A lot has changed. Excalibur, returning after two full years, has a much closer relationship between characters and a musical number has been added to show the characters more clearly. I think the relationships between the characters and the stories are delivered much more accurately and well to the audience.]

Q. Characters with various emotions… Is it difficult to express?

[Kai / Musical Actor: It is not easy. Because it is true that expressing those emotions accurately to the audience is a fairly big task and homework for an actor, but the difficulties we are facing now have taught me a lot, and through these difficulties, many people have Since I have a responsibility as an actor to deliver such a message that I hope you can do something like this, I think I’m researching a lot of things and continuing to give myself strength.]

Q. What is the charm of the role of 'Arthur'?

[Kai / Musical Actor: The efforts of not giving up in the midst of various difficulties, dedicated to the world, and sacrificing myself to protect Excalibur are probably also preparing for the presidential election now, and in this difficult time there are many messages. I think you are passing it on. (It’s a bit of a strength and a lesson.) That’s right.]

Q. Publishing a podium… What motivated you to write?

[Kai/Musical Actor: I think I am the most non-stop and prolific actor among musical actors. Because of that, I think there were times when I felt like I was missing out on myself in the cheers and applause of so many audiences. So, for several years now, I started to keep a diary where I can honestly look into my heart, and I really like flowers and nature so much that I looked at them and saw a lot of similarities with me. And as an actor, I have a lot of anxiety in the future. I wanted to share these honest feelings with many people through the medium of writing.]

Q. Classical vocal music major… How did the musical start?

[Kai / Musical Actor: Now, there are many male choir popera teams and there are many opportunities to audition publicly on TV.

So it was quite difficult.

It seems that I have always been thinking about what classical music that only I can do and what a 21st century singer will look like, and now that I am facing the market of musicals, I am the musical actor who gives the most legitimacy based on vocal music. as it seems to have been able to switch.]

Q. If you have a dream or desire to achieve in the future?

[Kai / Musical Actor: From now on, I want to keep that position as an authentic musical actor.

Many actors are challenging to act in the media these days, and media actors come to our musical stage, but I think at least one authentic musical actor is absolutely necessary.

So, I also want to be positioned as an actor who can show the legitimacy of musicals in the deepest part, and since I majored in classical music and vocal music, I will continue to work in places where it has nothing to do with whether it started in vocal music or theater. For the juniors who have started or are not quite sure where to go, I have a dream like what I would do if I could show a senior who nurtures and leads many juniors as I did.]
