A project dubbed by the Quebec star!
Sony Music Entertainment (SME), in partnership with SME Canada and Vermilion Films, today announced the start of production of a feature-length documentary on the life of Celine Dion.
“Celine Dion is one of the most coveted artists of all time.
We are honored to work with her to produce this highly anticipated documentary, ”said Tom Mackay, President, Premium Content, Sony Music Entertainment, in a press release.
If the project does not yet have a title, we already know that it will be directed by filmmaker Irene Taylor, renowned for her documentaries that delve into the human experience, and nominated for the Oscars in 2009 for
The Final Inch
, a documentary short on polio extinction.

Conceived with the full participation and support of Celine Dion, this film will retrace the journey of the Canadian superstar, who has sold more than 250 million albums during his 40-year career. “I've always been an open book with my fans, and with her sensitivity and thoughtful creativity, I think Irene will be able to show everyone a part of me that they haven't seen before… I know she will tell my story in the most honest and authentic way possible, ”says Celine Dion.
