[Explanation] Since 2007, Li Lanxiang has traveled to 212 administrative villages in Zanhuang County, and went to 13 provinces across the country to conduct field interviews. He sought out Zambian veterans from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the War of Liberation, and the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and record their heroic stories.

This year, 84-year-old Li Lanxiang is a veteran in Zanhuang County, Shijiazhuang City. In the past 14 years, he has written down the stories of 128 veterans he interviewed, forming more than 2 million words of historical data.

In May of this year, Li Lanxiang was named "China's Good Man".

Recently, the reporter met Li Lanxiang who was collating information in Zanhuang County, Shijiazhuang City.

　　I was influenced by my family. My brother and I were both soldiers. Five or six of my family were soldiers. After I came back from the army, (I paid attention to all things) about (war), I just collected these things. I took all the history. Written as a book, it makes up for the gaps in the history of Emperor Zan.

　　[Explanation] In order to ensure that the information collected is true and objective, Li Lanxiang has to interview multiple people for the deeds of every veteran.

In order to implement a problem, Li Lanxiang will also visit their comrades in arms and relatives, and check the short notes on the veteran's merit certificate to verify whether the content is true.

　　As long as there is information (clues) (of the veterans), I will leave if I say.

I go out to ride a bicycle, walk, take a tricycle, take a farm tricycle, take a bus, and my children send me all kinds of (travel methods). I go down for an interview.

　　[Commentary] What made Li Lanxiang sigh is that many veterans are getting older and can't even remember their family members, but they still remember the names of their comrades in arms and the numbers of the troops.

I don't know how many times, Li Lanxiang repeatedly searched for and confirmed the address of the veteran. After arriving there, the veteran had already passed away.

　　We must step up and speed up the interviews. (The Zanhuang nationality participated in) the War of Liberation, the War of Resistance against Japan, including (the veterans of the War of Resistance against U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea), now there are more than 20 people left, so there must be a sense of urgency. 　　[Explanation] In the past 14 years, Li Lanxiang has used thousands of pen refills and has compiled 7 veterans' deeds, leaving precious historical materials for future generations.

In Li Lanxiang's view, these veterans have experienced the turbulent years of gunpowder and crisis. They are heroes fighting for peace, and history should remember them.

　　Don't think I am handwriting now. My work efficiency is relatively high. Since August 1st, I started to write praises for the emperor and female heroes. I completed 8 people (deed writing) in August.

If God can give me another 5 years and I can live to be 90 years old, I plan to write down all the battles of Zanhuang.
