5-year prison sentence for a famous Kuwaiti artist for drug abuse
The Criminal Court sentenced a famous Kuwaiti artist to imprisonment for 5 years with hard labor, for the charge of abuse and a fine of 5,000 dinars.
The accused was arrested upon his return to the country last July, through the airport, in possession of narcotics.
The Kuwaiti Criminal Court ruled that the artist be imprisoned with work and enforceability, and according to the local newspaper, Al-Rai, "the court refused to reveal the artist's name, and although his name was not mentioned, local accounts, and a large number of the public on social media platforms, confirmed that he is the actor." The well-known Kuwaiti Ali Kakoli, without any confirmation of the veracity of the matter.
Kuwaiti newspapers, at the end of last July, had published the Public Prosecution’s decision to imprison a Kuwaiti representative for 21 days, on charges of bringing narcotic substances from outside the country. However, Kuwaiti activists said that the accused is the actor Ali Kakoli.
