More than 100 islands are scattered over the ocean waters not far from Madagascar, their area does not exceed 500 square kilometres, three-quarters of which are uninhabited, and the largest of them is Mahe Island, where most of the archipelago's population does not exceed 100,000.

And "Victoria" is the capital that does not resemble small villages, with its houses built in the colonial style, and the tranquility of its streets, where the pace of life is a soft lullaby among the spacious botanical gardens stretching at the feet of high mountains that appear directly from the turquoise waters of the ocean.

The main attractions of the island lie in its charming beaches, but the interior is no less beautiful with its picturesque nature and the national reserve, which covers almost a quarter of the island's area and includes a large number of rare plant species, among which the smallest frog in the world lives, its length does not exceed 12 centimeters and is surrounded with great care for fear of extinction.

And visiting the reserve is possible by car on a beautiful road that crosses it from beginning to end.

The story of Gian Paolo's journey

Behind the Mango House Seychelles Resort are many stories told by its principal owner, Gian Paolo Barbieri, the famous Italian fashion and lifestyle photographer.

His love of exploration and a photoshoot for Vogue Paris led him to the Seychelles in 1975, and he immediately fell in love with the lands south of Mahe.

From that moment on, his imagination did not leave those pure lands untouched by human hands, as it allowed him to consolidate his relationship with nature once again.

During the photoshoot for Vogue Paris, Jean couldn't take his eyes off the beach he had been looking at from the top of the hill.

This prompted him to inquire about the possibility of buying the surrounding land after he discovered that it was for sale.

The owner of that land was a Seychellois noblewoman who owned the whole corner of the beach called Anne Lisette.

After waiting for 15 days, I accepted Jian's offer to buy the land.

While preparing the documents needed to purchase the land, he was asked what name he wanted to give the house.
