With the seven-day incidence of the coronavirus in Germany, there was hardly any dynamic compared to the previous day.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) stated the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week on this Monday morning as 61.7.

For comparison: the previous day the value was 61.4, a week ago it was 71.0.

The health authorities in Germany reported 3022 new corona infections to the RKI within one day.

A week ago the value was 3736 infections.

According to the new information, ten deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours.

A week ago there were 13 deaths.

The number of people who died with or with a proven infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus rose to 93,403.

The RKI has counted 4,199,400 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The actual total number is likely to be significantly higher, as many infections are not detected.

The RKI stated the number of those who had recovered at 3,966,700.

The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was last given by the RKI on Friday at 1.58, a decrease of 0.3 compared to the previous week's value.

A nationwide threshold value from when the situation can be viewed critically is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences.

The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.

Lauterbach remains a member of parliament

The SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach, who was present nationwide as a result of the pandemic, will also be a member of the new Bundestag.

He defended his direct mandate in the general election on Sunday by a large margin.

Lauterbach landed in the Leverkusen - Cologne IV constituency with 45.6 percent, far ahead of the CDU candidate, North Rhine-Westphalia's Integration State Secretary Serap Güler (20.4 percent).

Lauterbach was only on a lower position in the list of his state SPD, but remains a member of parliament due to his direct mandate.

Before the election, he had expressed an interest in becoming the next Federal Minister of Health.
