No more rap concerts "until further notice".

Alexandre Vincendet, the LR mayor of Rillieux-la-Pape (Rhône) has decided to issue a municipal decree to ban this type of cultural event in his town, says Lyon Mag.

A decision that follows the urban violence that occurred on Saturday evening on the sidelines of a concert organized at the MJC.

Between 20 and 30 people would have headed towards the room, armed with iron bars, according to the elected official believing that it was a settling of scores between rival bands of Vénissieux and Rillieux-la-Pape.

They would have started to ransack the establishment as well as public facilities.

Four bus shelters and garbage cans were damaged, several cars set on fire around 8 p.m.

The organizers of the event are summoned this Monday at the town hall.

“During the concert, everything went very well.

Among the 300 spectators, all social layers were represented ”, defended Mokrane Kessi, president of the Banlieues de France, questioned on France 3. And to recall that the“ violence took place in the public domain ”.

“The mayor is responsible for what happens outside,” he replies.
