Recently, the reporter came to the Jiaozishan National Nature Reserve in Yunnan and walked into the Dachang virgin Fir forest under the leadership of the forest ranger, and visited the protection status of the national second-level protected plant—Jijian Longbu Fir.

Yunnan Jiaozishan National Nature Reserve is located at the junction of Luquan Yi and Miao Autonomous County and Dongchuan District in the north of Kunming City, with a total area of 16,456 hectares. It mainly protects the natural ecosystem formed by forest vegetation and its habitat. Forest ecosystems represented by fir forests and alpine Berlin.

Abies longibracteata forest in the Jiaozishan National Nature Reserve in Yunnan is the type with the lowest latitude, the eastest longitude, and the lowest altitude among the longbracte fir forests in China.

China's long-bud fir forests are mainly distributed in areas with an altitude of 3,300 meters and above, while the sharp-pointed long-bud fir forests in Jiaozishan Nature Reserve appear in large numbers at an altitude of 2,700 meters. This is a very special phenomenon in the geographical distribution of vegetation in Yunnan Province.

The Management and Protection Bureau of Jiaozishan National Nature Reserve in Yunnan has established a test plot of Fir cuspidate in the reserve, and registered the number of Fir cuspidate in the sample plot and long-term monitoring and management.

A group of four foresters will patrol the Dachang virgin forest daily, guarding the forest ecosystem including the long-bud fir forest. The "king of the tree" of the sharp-pointed long-bud fir with a tree age of more than three hundred years, and a three-year-old one. The seedlings of Fir cuspidate and Rhododendron, Fargesia, wild fungi and other organisms coexist harmoniously in the forest, and the biodiversity protection of Jiaozi Mountain in Yunnan has achieved remarkable results.
