At a tourist facility in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, the traditional "Kurumada" rice was harvested.

It is crowded with many tourists every year, but this year it was a quiet harvest of rice with no visitors due to the corona stagnation.

Kurumada, which is said to have cultivated rice dedicated to Ise Jingu in Mie Prefecture, is a rice field where rice is planted in a circle. It is said that there are only two places left.

Takayama City's tourist facility "Hida no Sato" has reproduced this car field and opened the rice harvesting work to tourists, but this year it is temporarily closed until the end of this month due to a state of emergency due to the new coronavirus. ..

For this reason, the rice harvesting in the Kurumada, which would normally be crowded with many tourists, has become a quiet rice harvesting with no visitors.

In Kurumada, which is about 13 meters in diameter and where glutinous rice was planted, staff wearing happi coats harvested rice from the outside toward the center.

Reiko Imamura, general manager of "Hida no Sato", said, "Rice has grown as usual. Today is a lonely harvest, but I want many customers to come next year."
