The documentary will be based on newly filmed material with Tim "Avicii" Bergling's family, friends and colleagues as well as never before shown archive clips and interviews with the world artist himself.

According to the team behind the film, it will be about Tim Bergling's journey from "the boys' room to the world arenas", about the pressure on him from the outside world and about his music.

The film will probably be the first about Tim Bergling's life and career that comes out after the star's death in 2018.

The documentary Avicii: True stories by Levan Tsikurishvili attracted a lot of attention for the depiction of the somewhat harsh and exposed work environment in the music industry when it came out in 2017.

In November this year, the book Tim - The Biography of Avicii by the journalist Måns Mosesson is also expected to be published.

"Movie that surprises"

This is not the first time the music journalist Henrik Burman has targeted a young Swedish world star.

He has previously directed the documentary Yung Lean: In my head, about the hip-hop artist Yung Lean.

- I want to make a film that both surprises and challenges the image of Sweden's greatest international artist in modern times and sheds light on his musical work, says Henrik Burman about the upcoming Avicii film.

The filming has been going on since 2019 and the film has a planned world premiere in 2023.
