- This year, the book fair is really a completely new type of format: it will be a hybrid fair, says fair manager Frida Edman.

In total, between 500 and 2000 people are admitted per day at the Swedish Fair in Gothenburg, and the approximately 300 studio calls take in a limited audience, up to a few hundred people with safety distances.

The entire seminar program is also broadcast live via the book fair's play service, which was launched in 2020 as a result of the pandemic.

Last year, the play service was completely free - a model that provided new viewers but is hardly financially sustainable in the long run.

This year, the book fair charges SEK 395 for a digital ticket.

The question is how many are willing to pay for the play service.

- It remains to be seen, but we hope that the interest will be great, says Frida Edman.
