The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation concluded the activities of the "Short Story Forum in the Emirates... Generations Communicate", which was organized in cooperation with the Emirates Writers Union, on Tuesday and Wednesday, at Ahmed Rashid Thani Hall at the Emirates Writers Union headquarters in Sharjah - Al Qasba Channel.

A large group of veteran and young short story writers, and a number of critics who dealt with the Emirati short story of its various generations, participated in it.

Abdul Hamid Ahmed, Secretary-General of the Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, opened the forum with a welcoming speech in which he stressed the importance of partnership between cultural institutions and their cooperation in organizing activities that benefit society. Al Owais Cultural Award under the roof of the Writers Union, and from there it was launched and expanded.

The Secretary-General added that "this forum comes as a revival of the ancient art of literary writing, which the UAE had preferred to push back to the forefront of written interest."

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Writers Union, Sultan Al-Amimi, welcomed the participants, and confirmed that the Writers Union extended its arm to cooperate with other cultural institutions, and thanked the Al Owais Cultural Foundation for its initiative to organize this forum in cooperation with the Writers Union.

Then the proceedings of the forum’s sessions began with a research paper presented by Dr. Badia Al-Hashemi, entitled “The Orphan Story in the Emirates: Content and Artistic Formation.” After that, the storyteller Ali Obaid Al Hamli presented a testimony about his experience in writing the short story .. and his attachment to popular stories, such as the alienation of Bani Hilal, Antar and Abla. Since his childhood, then the storyteller Salha Obaid Hassan read a story entitled “A nose and spices.” After that, Maryam Abdullah read a story entitled “I and Anna.” The first session was moderated by the poet and writer Ibrahim Al-Hashemi, and the researcher Muayyad Al-Shaibani signed copies of his book “Maryam Juma Faraj. The Story of an Emirati Ghafa,” issued by the Al Owais Cultural Foundation.

In the second session, the critic d. Saleh Howaidi, a cash paper entitled “The World of No Ones, the Broken and the Broken in the Stories of Maryam Juma Faraj.” Then the storyteller Nasser Al Dhaheri presented a testimony in which he said: “I was born a story writer,” describing the environment surrounding him in the city of Al Ain and the vocabulary that formed his first memory, as the story was presented. Asmaa Al Zarooni, a testimonial about her experience with writing the story, and the storyteller and critic Abdel Fattah Sabri shed light on the experiences of the Story Club in the Emirates Writers Union, then the session concluded with a short story presented by the young narrator Muhammad Youssef Zainal, entitled “Tabaqat”, and the session was moderated by the critic Islam Abushakir.

The activities of the second day of the forum were launched with a research paper by critic Ezzat Omar, entitled “The Efficiency of Time in the Emirati Short Story”, then the pioneering storyteller Abdullah Saqr Ahmed Al Marri narrated beautiful details about the sixties, where life was simple, beautiful and uncomplicated, after which the storyteller Abdul Hamid Ahmed presented A testimonial in which he addressed the world of anxiety that he lived through while writing his stories, and he told about ambition and the search for a complete text through experimentation. Issued by the Emirates Writers Union, and also announced his intention to publish a group of joint stories for young people to encourage them to continue writing. Then the storyteller Fatima Al-Amiri read a story entitled “Where do the dead go”, and the proceedings of the novelist session were moderated by Reem Al Kamali. The narrator Abdullah Saqr also signed his book "Dark Pieces of the Night".

Al-Rasheed Buhair, a paper entitled “The Thesis of Generations and Their Communication in the Emirati Short Story.” The storyteller Abdul Redha Al Sajwani gave his personal testimony about the stage of his narrative formation since the sixties of the last century, and the writer Ali Al Himiri gave his testimony about his story experience in which he referred to the world of stories told by grandmothers and mothers.

The young storyteller, Aisha Al-Jabri, read a short story entitled "My Friend's Black Coffee." After that, the storyteller Mohsen Suleiman gave his testimony about the world of writing and its relationship to reading, which formed his cognitive awareness. Dr. Basima Younes moderated the proceedings of the session.
