According to court documents, the lawyer suggested that the artist's father, Jamie Spears, be removed as guardian on September 29, and that a temporary replacement be appointed to terminate the guardianship.
"Miss Spears wants a temporary, short-term guardian appointed to replace Mr. Spears until the guardianship ends completely this fall," the documents state.
At the beginning of the summer, the singer requested that the guardianship be terminated.
Jamie Spears said in August, through his lawyer, that he can reluctantly agree to resign.
From 2008 until 2019, the father was the formal guardian of both Britney Spears' person and her assets.
He now shares control of his daughter's assets with a foundation, while Britney Spears' co-worker Jodi Montgomery is her guardian.
