Around 1 pm on the 20th, the wife of a male civil servant in his 50s living in Kita-ku, Tokyo reported to the police that he could not contact his husband who went mountain climbing in the Northern Alps.



According to police, the man entered the Northern Alps alone from Kamikochi in Nagano Prefecture on September 18, and was scheduled to descend on the 20th.



The man was calling his wife on the morning of the 19th, saying, "I'm leaving Minamidake's hut," and on the morning of the 19th, it seems that he was on the Gifu prefecture side near Kitahotakadake from the location information of his mobile phone.



Police have been searching by mountain guards and helicopters since the 21st, considering that it is highly possible that they were in distress while heading from Minamidake to Kitahotakadake.



According to police, the relationship with the earthquake that has continued in the Hida region of Gifu prefecture, where the Northern Alps is located, since the evening of 19th is unknown at this time.
