Amazing, of course, ideas are born by some European politicians, as they say, in the absence of the sovereignty of their own national state.

In particular, the deputy chairman of the German Green Party, Oliver Krischer, who is now fighting for dominance in the German parliament, is not, as it turns out, worried most about the rapidly rising prices for blue fuel, regardless of whether it is Russian, Qatari, or Norwegian. ... yes, even a Martian one.

To a normal German burgher, what does it matter?

But no.

The green politician, as it turns out, is most worried about something else.

Not prices.

Namely, that the project of the new gas pipeline will receive permission to operate under the current government, before the elections to the Bundestag, which will be held on September 26, 2021.

And then the shutdown of Nord Stream 2 (which the greens have no doubt about - they exist and are financed for this) could lead to claims for damages.

Therefore, the greens, whom this strange man is going to represent in public international politics, according to his officially expressed opinion, and are trying with all their, let's be honest, far from weak forces to postpone the launch of the highway before they end up in the government.

And then they freeze it - that's all.

What is most surprising in this story, the aforementioned Oliver Krischer, who is going, what is most ridiculous, to be elected to the German Bundestag in the very near future, as it turns out, does not care at all about the opinion of the German voter.

Which is quite unambiguous: the rating of the German Greens collapsed, including precisely because of their position on Nord Stream 2. This is not a secret for anyone at all, and Mr. Kirscher simply cannot but know this.

It's all simple here.

The volatility of blue fuel prices, which directly affect the contents of burgher wallets, makes an impression even on an outside observer, what can we say about the owners of the aforementioned wallets.

At its peak, the gas price last week at the TTF hub in the Netherlands, which is the base for prices in the Old World, reached almost $ 970 per thousand cubic meters, and this is definitely not the limit: in the premium markets of Southeast Asia, it is even higher, and in there is no doubt that European spot prices will tend to Asian ones.

The market is the market.

Moreover.

Judging by the occupancy rate of European UGS facilities, there is no trend towards a long-term decline in prices for blue fuel on European markets and is not expected: this is pure mathematics.

Yes, the current price rally is somewhat unnatural in pace and the price can fluctuate, but in general the trend is obvious.

Because American LNG, which was supposed to replace Russian pipeline gas in European markets, never arrived there for a very commonplace reason: money is money.

And where they pay more for LNG, tankers go there.

The question is solely the price.

But the Russians are still to blame for this, from the point of view of European-Atlanticist politicians.

And this is what worries the European "Atlantists" (or rather, infuriates) really really.

In particular, more than forty European deputies demanded that the European Commission before the launch of Nord Stream 2 "investigate" the activities of the Russian "Gazprom". The parliamentarians (let us note separately, traditionally unsubstantiated) accused the Russian company of “market manipulation and blackmail” in order to obtain consent to operate the pipeline. No, here everything, in general, is clear: the letter to the European Commission was initiated by the Lithuanian MEP Andrius Kubilius. And it would be foolish to simply expect anything different from these American limitrophes. And, which is also quite expected, this letter was signed by 14 politicians from Poland, who are now creating the main movement around the Russian-German discourse. But here is the active support for this, sorry, nonsense from people who are going to win the election race in Germany, personally, it was quite surprising for me to observe. Because even the Americans have already understood and resigned themselves: Nord Stream 2, of course, is primarily a German project.

Once again: everything is extremely simple here.

As a matter of fact, the Russians, whose main task was to complete the project, as they say, “in hardware,” in general, in half, when exactly Nord Stream 2 will be physically launched.

And how exactly will its "certification" last in Germany and the EU.

There is no need to invent anything.

Gazprom's production and export, including to non-CIS countries, and without Nord Stream 2 this year is breaking all conceivable and inconceivable records.

And this, by the way, despite the fact that the Russian gas giant is objectively faced with a task formulated not by someone, but by Russian President Vladimir Putin: a turn to domestic markets.

Including through the growing gasification of households, for which the Russian state authorities are now asking from Gazprom even more than for the purchase of insanely expensive football players in his sponsored FC Zenit St. Petersburg.

In a word, the launch of the recently completed gas pipeline is certainly interesting for Russian suppliers: this is their money.

But far from being a priority.

"Burns up", excuse my French, now not from a Russian supplier.

And the European consumer.

And that is why the position of the German Greens in this situation is so unnatural and ridiculous.

Especially after the incumbent Chancellor Angela Merkel explained all this in some detail to her American partners, who, by the way, in the person of President Biden, agreed with her, which is the funny thing, during their recent visit to the United States.

So all these "political battles" around Nord Stream 2 are nothing more than inertia.

Judge for yourself.

In the energy deficit market, the supplier's position is in any case unshakable, he can wait as long as he wants.

That is, for the Russians, excuse the rudeness, it’s generally purple when exactly Nord Stream 2 will be certified and launched.

And even on Ukrainian transit, despite numerous “requests,” this will never affect, no matter how much Bankova dreamed about it, - which, by the way, Frau Merkel said once again during her recent visit to Poland.

Yes, the "Ukrainian contract" will be executed flawlessly, but nothing more.

But the position of consumers in this case is much more complicated: instead of many words, the current occupancy of European UGS facilities and European gas prices on the spot markets speak for themselves.

Here, sorry, no politics - pure mathematics.

Well, as for the position of the German Greens as, in fact, a kind of European branch of the US Democratic Party, it is so anti-national that the ratings of the recent favorite of the pre-election race in Germany also speak for themselves, despite the massive patronage of seemingly indigenous, but obviously supported from overseas media.

There is no need to complicate anything here either.

As it was said in the classic Soviet film "The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed", "a woman - she senses in her heart."

In exactly the same way, the German burghers "sense" the position of the pseudo-German green politicians with their own wallet.

The point of view of the author may not coincide with the position of the editorial board.
