The series "The Crown" sparkled in Los Angeles, during the Emmy Awards, Sunday, September 19.

The Netflix production, which chronicles the life of the British royal family in a fictionalized manner, won the Emmy Award for "best drama series" and won all the actor awards in its category, while another streaming platform, AppleTV +, also distinguished itself with the comedy series "Ted Lasso".

Until then, Netflix or Apple productions had never obtained the awards for best dramatic series or best comedy series.

British actors Josh O'Connor and Olivia Colman, who played Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth in "The Crown", were named Best Actor and Best Actress in a Drama Series.

"The Crown", at the end of a season centered on the marital difficulties of the couple formed by Prince Charles and Princess Diana, also obtained awards for its screenplay and its directing, while Gillian Anderson and Tobias Menzies have been named Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Kate Winslet was named Best Actress for her role in the short-form series "Mare of Easttown", while Ewan McGregor was named Best Actor for "Halston".

Due to health concerns, with the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus, the ceremony was organized outdoors, in a tent, in central Los Angeles, with a limited number of spectators and strict measures - vaccination against Covid - 19 and mandatory screening test.
