Mats Paulson was born in 1938 in Linköping and has written hundreds of songs throughout his career spanning over 60 years.

He debuted with the song collection "Tango in Hagalund" in 1964, and got his real breakthrough with the follow-up album "A city, a morning" in 1966, which contained one of his most famous songs "Show by the meadows of the wind".

The song has later been interpreted by, among others, Mats Rådberg, Alexander Rybak and Håkan Hellström.

Other famous songs are "Barfotavisan" and "Baggenslåten".

In addition to touring in national parks and being on stage, Mats Paulson also spent a lot of time painting.

- He has been very productive and done things that have been unique and that have meant a lot to many people. Dad was a caring person and an inspiration, says son Johannes Paulson to Aftonbladet.
