Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, has decided to start an initiative to distribute tickets that can be used at coffee shops in the city to those who have been vaccinated in order to promote vaccination of the younger generation.

The inoculation rate of the new coronavirus vaccine in Nishinomiya City was 50.9% as of the end of last month, but the challenge is to improve the inoculation rate of the younger generation, 13.7% for teens and 29% for 20s.

Under these circumstances, the city announced that it will distribute 500 yen worth of tickets that can be used at coffee shops in the city to citizens aged 18 to 39 who have been vaccinated.

This means that people who have been vaccinated for the first time next month at the mass inoculation venue "Nishikita Venue" near Hankyu Nishinomiya Kitaguchi Station will be targeted.

Nishinomiya City is focusing on regional development as a "coffee town" due to the increase in coffee shops in recent years, and tickets can be used at about 30 shops in the city participating in this activity.

Toshiro Ishii, the mayor of Nishinomiya City, said, "I want people to drink coffee deliciously after vaccination and use it for inoculation. I hope it will also support coffee shops."

President Tokuo Sano, who runs the target coffee shop, said, "I would like young people to visit various shops safely and securely after vaccination and to know that there are so many coffee shops in Nishinomiya." I'm talking to you.
