Fifty years ago, off the coast of Alaska, activists launched their first action for the protection of the environment and the promotion of peace to protest against the American nuclear tests planned on Amchitka Island .

And on September 15, 1971, the Phyllis Cormack, renamed Greenpeace for the occasion, set sail. Traumatized by the Rainbow Warrior attack committed by the French secret services in 1985 in the port of Auckland (New Zealand), the He NGO has always advocated non-violence in its actions.

In 50 years, the NGO has invested in the greatest monuments in the world to communicate its messages.

From the Taj Mahal to the Arc de Triomphe, passing by Christ the Redeemer or the White House, find some iconic images of the actions carried out by the NGO mobilized on environmental issues.
