The Egyptian security services in Dakahlia Governorate found the body of an engineer under the Mansoura University bridge, 11 days after his disappearance, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Watan.

The newspaper added that the engineer Ahmed Atef, whose disappearance occupied the Egyptian social networking sites after his wife published a picture of them and a publication on several pages on social networking sites, asking him to search for her husband, who disappeared one day before her birth.

Investigations revealed that the victim's friend lured him, killed him, and threw his body into the Nile.

A security source said that the accused was the owner of a company for trading plastic materials, and he was a friend of the victim, and they had a commercial partnership, and that the victim was providing him with money to operate it, amounting to 680,000 pounds and 5 bank checks to guarantee his rights and the rights of depositors.

The source added that the victim and the accused had a call during which they agreed to meet to collect the late profits from the last month with the accused, which the victim has not received since the beginning of this month due to the accused's procrastination.

The source confirmed that the accused lured the victim to the Mansoura University bridge through the Talkha Cemetery Road and then the Ring Road.

The Public Prosecution heard the statements of the wife, who accused her husband's friend of killing him, stressing that he was the last person he met, after which contact with him was cut off, and that, as usual, the contact with him was cut off after he took from his friend the amount of 80,000 pounds.

The Public Prosecution demanded that DNA analyzes be carried out for each of the engineer's father and mother, and to be compared with the DNA of the body that was found, to ensure that the body that was found belonged to the engineer Ahmed Atef, because the body at the time of its discovery was in a state of decomposition.

The victim’s father said: “My son is a martyr of treachery and betrayal, and he is the upright young man who fears our Lord in everything. On the day of the incident, and because my son’s wife was suffering from labor pains, she brought his child (Kanan) to us, and he was in constant contact with me, because his son was crying. And when he was late, I took the child to my son’s house and left him for his wife. The next day, my son’s wife told me that Ahmed had not slept in the house, and we started looking for him and reported his disappearance to the police until his body appeared in the Nile River below the Mansoura University bridge stuck in an irrigation tree.

On the other hand, the family of Engineer Ahmed Atef on Sunday evening accepted condolences in front of his house in the village of Mit Antar, amid the flock of hundreds of villagers to offer their condolences.
