Penelope Cruz shines again.. Best Actress at Venice Film Festival

Spanish actress Penelope Cruz won the Best Actress award at the Venice Film Festival on Saturday for her role in "Madris Parallillas", her latest collaboration with fellow film star Pedro Almodovar.

Accepting the award, Cruz said, "Thank you Pedro, you have done a magical job, I adore you."

The film tells the story of two women who give birth to their children on the same day and the same nursery school, and Penelope Cruz embodies the role of a forty-year-old photographer who lives a turbulent life.


This year's festival, in its 78th edition, witnessed the return of major names of Hollywood cinema and studios to Venice, where films from 59 countries were shown.
