Chiba Prefecture reported that the number of fatal accidents caused by drunk driving was the highest in Japan, and that measures should be promoted in cooperation with the citizens of the prefecture and restaurants to eradicate drunk driving. I have put together a book.

There were 164 drunk driving accidents in Chiba prefecture, of which 13 were fatal accidents, the highest number in Japan.

Chiba Prefecture is a specialized subcommittee made up of experts and police, and has examined measures to eradicate drunk driving and has recently compiled a report.

Among them, about half of the drivers who caused accidents due to drunk driving drank alcohol at restaurants, and about half of these stores did not call for prevention of drunk driving.

On top of that, as a countermeasure, not only police crackdown but also the cooperation of the citizens of the prefecture is indispensable, and we are proposing the establishment of an ordinance that obliges the police to report when a driver who drives drunk driving is identified.

In addition, it is said that restaurants should be asked to cooperate in taking concrete measures to prevent drunk driving, such as checking the means of transportation for passengers.

Chiba Prefecture will proceed with concrete examination work for the realization of countermeasures in the future.
