As recently as 2018, Per Landin was nominated for the Great Non-Fiction Book Prize for the book "Langbehn's testament".
During his long career he wrote about fifteen books.
Between 1987 and 2012, he was employed by Dagens Nyheter's cultural editorial office, but also wrote in several other Swedish and German newspapers.
In 1990, he became a doctor of philosophy in German with a focus on literary studies at Stockholm University.
Landin translated works by Wolf Biermann, Bettina Blumenberg and Thomas Mann, among others.
