Continuing the aspirations of the first century, take on the mission of educating people.

September 10 this year is China’s 37th Teacher’s Day.

Generations of educators have inherited the red gene in the four seasons of hard work, continued to build the party's original aspirations, carried forward the great party-building spirit, and truly assumed the glorious mission of educating people for the party and the country.

In the Student Affairs Department of Peking University, there is such a young teacher with sharp short hair and a bright smiling face. Everyone who comes into contact with her will be infected by her youthful breath.

Song Xi, born in 1994, is now a full-time counselor at Peking University.

In the past few years, she joined the army from the campus of Peking University and became an amphibious scout of the Marine Corps, participating in the escort of the Gulf of Aden.

After retiring, she won the title of "The Most Beautiful Veteran", was elected as the "2018 Beijing Model", and returned to her alma mater for further study... In her youthful chapter, every time she writes is full of color, written on the land of the motherland.

On the afternoon of August 2, 2021, the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held a meeting with Chinese and foreign journalists. Four representatives of retired soldiers and retired servicemen and party members talked about their work experience and experience around the theme of "veterans always follow the party."

Song Xi, the youngest "veteran" among them, said with great emotion: "From the so-called prince of heaven to the ordinary soldier, it is an extremely rare sublimation for me, because under the guidance of the party flag and military flag, I I feel an unprecedented sense of mission, responsibility and honor."

For Song Xi, going from the campus to the barracks was not a hot-headed decision.

Song Xi's military dream originated from the experience of living with his father in the military compound when he was a child.

The image of a well-disciplined and heroic soldier was deeply imprinted in her mind.

"I have longed for the military camp since I was a child, and dreamed that I could put on a military uniform and defend my country."

In 2012, after entering the School of Psychology and Cognitive Science of Peking University as he wished to study, Song Xi's dream of joining the army has not been extinguished, but has become more determined.

Until the junior year, when the navy came to the Peking University campus to recruit, Song Xi resolutely signed up.

Recalling the first day after entering the recruit company, Song Xi could not hide her excitement: "I have long heard of the Marine Corps female amphibious reconnaissance team known as the'amphibious overlord flower'." She secretly made up her mind to become like this herself. A "Overlord Flower" blooms where the motherland needs it most.

For this goal, she formulated a comprehensive and rigorous training plan, five kilometers off-road, climbing wire fences, live ammunition...everything could not be dropped.

Later, she entered the Marine Corps with excellent results and became an unyielding "amphibious flower".

In December 2016, as the only female marine, Song Xi accompanied the 25th escort fleet of the Chinese Navy to the Gulf of Aden and Somalia on escort missions.

The Gulf of Aden is also called the Pirate Bay, because it is close to Somalia, and merchant ships passing by are often attacked by pirates.

In order to protect the Gulf of Aden and the safety of merchant ships, the Chinese navy stationed patrols here to escort them.

In April 2017, a Tuvaluan cargo ship was hijacked by an unknown number of pirates in the northwest waters of Socotra Island.

Song Xi recalled that in order to rescue the hostages, the Chinese warship "Yulin" immediately went to rescue. 16 "post-90s" special forces team members risked their lives and boarded the hijacked cargo ship in small boats under the cover of carrier-borne helicopters. After more than seven hours of cabin search, 19 hostages were finally rescued.

Seeing the rescued Syrian crew wearing a five-star red flag shouting "Thank You China", Song Xi's eyes burst into tears: "This mission gave me a deep understanding of the strength of the motherland. I am also the Chinese navy. Proud of being a member!"

In the same year, after retiring from the military, Song Xi returned to Peking University to continue her studies and studied for a master's degree in clinical and health psychology.

May 2, 2018.

As the only student representative, Song Xi gave a speech at the Beijing Master-Student Forum and reported on her growth in military camp forging and campus learning.

Song Xi said: "From the honeypot to the army's experience, I deeply feel that college students must not be separated from the masses, and they must not be able to raise themselves."

Talking about her current job, Song Xi smiled with satisfaction: "I think being a teacher is a very happy thing." When contacting the students, Song Xi used her own mental process and growth experience to continuously inspire and influence They let them have a stronger inner strength when facing difficulties.

She also often tells them to combine personal development with the needs of the country and society, dare to act, dare to pursue dreams, and integrate fiery youth into the current of the times.

"The mission is on my shoulders, and I am the one who strives." As a "walker" with young students, Song Xi said that in the future, he will be engaged in student work full-time and will use professional knowledge to accompany the growth of students and escort the growth of young students. This "big ideological and political course", together with colleagues, trains newcomers of the era who are responsible for the great task of national rejuvenation for the motherland.
