About twenty classes have already closed their doors in Vaucluse just a few days after the start of the school year due to cases of Covid-19.

"In kindergarten or elementary, when there is a positive case, the class must close", recalled Loïc Souriau, director of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) in the department, on the antenna of France Bleu Vaucluse this Tuesday, September 7.

The priority remains the vaccination of 12-17 year olds

The person in charge takes stock of the health situation: "The incidence rate is really going down and we had a peak equivalent to the third wave, but now the drop is significant and remarkable".

A speech that is reassuring even if the number of hospitalizations remains stable.

If the vaccine is not on the agenda for kindergarten and elementary school students, vaccination coverage of 12-17 year olds remains a priority.

They are proportionally less vaccinated than adults but just as exposed.
